First person parkour game

Unity

This two-level demo was developed in a group for the Videogame Design subject, evaluating the mechanics and level design. This requires constant iteration and incremental refinement during development, as well as active feedback from external users. The group consisted of Ivan Ivanov Mandev and Álvaro Soriano Romero (me) as programmers and Ivy Lilliana Ruffin as 3D Hard-Surface Modeler.

What I Did

My contribution to the project was mainly the development of the player movement and everything related to it, as well as the design of the tutorial and the SoundFX:

· Collisions with objects and other movement restrictions.
· Camera balancing with movement and jumps. This includes the fall from the jumps, the load from the jump, the change when moving laterally or backwards and the feeling.
· Camera inclinations to increase the immersion adapting to the movement of the player.
· Jump obstacles with realistic camera shake.
· Wallrun. Running along the wall is an essential mechanic in games of these characteristics and the result obtained offers a very dynamic and exclusively controlled gameplay by the player, offering a great reward when performing complicated or different movements.
